Hancock County, Illinois, July 15, 1841.

In the name of God, Amen:
I, John Forney, being of sound mind and disposing memory, do make this my last will and testament, and desire that it should be received by all as such.

First; It is my desire, that my wife Mary shall have all my property, both real and personal at her will and disposal during her life, and after her death, all the property both real and personal if any remaining, shall be equally divided among all my children.Except that Catherine has received thirty-five dollars; Barbary has received thirty-five dollars; Frederick has received twelve dollars; Jacob has received ten dollars; Elizabeth has received twenty-five dollars. I also charge to George thirty-five dollars for failing to remain with me till he was of age. After all my children have received a portion equal to the greatest amount above mentioned, and equal division of the remaining property shall be made, if there be any remaining.

And I do appoint my wife Mary, sole Executrix of this my last will and testament and that she not be held to security.

In witness whereof I have set my hand and affixed my seal.
